I’ve got lots of fun art events coming up before the usual (at least here in Seattle) descent into January hibernation begins . On First Thursday (December 4) there are two of them, walking distance from one another: ’57 Biscayne’s annual Holiday Open Studios, also featuring a fine art print sale courtesy of Seattle Print Arts.

The same night, Thirty Years, A Thousand Stories opens down the street at ArtX Contemporary, which I’m honored to be included in. Celebrating three decades of global art and cultural exchange, this group exhibition gathers artists whose diverse practices and perspectives form a vivid tapestry of the gallery’s living narrative. The show runs through January 17, 2026; a second public reception will be held on January 8 (“1st” Thursday moved to the 2nd Thursday to avoid the holiday).

Then, Saturday, December 6, Redmond Lights kicks off at Downtown Park in lovely Redmond, Washington, featuring illuminated art installations, a luminary trail, fake snow, performances — and a giant wall of video art, where animations by moi and others will loom large. The kickoff event is from 4-8 on December 6, with the videos starting at 7pm. After the kickoff, the art will stay up through January 5, 2026, lit up and visible from 5-11pm every night (and the videos will play on a loop starting at 5).
